In reply to <a href="https://gamewardbound.com/yucatan-solo-play/#comment-9509">Laurent</a>.

I appreciate your thoughts. This one personally fell completely flat for me as a game, from its confusing rules and rather terrible solo mode, to the surprisingly graphic artwork I wasn't prepared for. Some games have themes that are disquieting in a way that encourages thoughtful reflection, yet this one felt like it had layers of frustration that prevented me from engaging with the theme beyond the superficial artwork and basic mechanics. Thanks for stopping by!

Unfortunately, I don't know. I'm not familiar enough with lamination techniques to figure out if that would be possible. Something tells me it's more about the stickers, which are not designed to be removed. Hope you have some luck locating an answer, though! All the best to you!

Hello,
Just as Freedom: underground railroad, Yucatan board game is a disquieting experience because as Vauvenargues wrote «Truth like Sun cannot be stared at» (sorry for the translation). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luc_de_Clapiers,_marquis_de_Vauvenargues
As a thorough reader of René Girard, I’ve learnt that all cultures are daughters of sacrifice. As christians, we tend to forget that. May be after reading Girard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%C3%A9_Girard), this boardgame will become less disquieting or not 8-o…
I wonder why boardgames in which we compete for brass are less disquieting ?! May be because the disquieting part is hidden.
Kind regards
