Playing this on the browser was helpful for understanding the rules.
The graphics don't make which suits are what, but once you figure that out -- this helps clarify a lot of the rules!

It can be a very challenging game, although adjusting your maximum vitality can be a quick way to make it easier! Losing immediately is possible with the randomness, but is there anything that seems to consistently lead to losses? Are you only clearing out 3 of 4 cards per round, or clearing out all 4 cards? Just trying to think of some rules that might make it extra difficult. Sorry to hear it's not working out for you.

The only fool in this game is the person who keeps playing it. I've lost 10 out of 10 times. I must be missing something absolutely vital to success or it's designed incredibly poorly. No stars. I was so looking forward to this too.

I hope this helps you out a lot, Marita! I've found that decks are really subjective. My collection is extremely small, even after looking at decks for over 10 years. If you have any questions along the way, ask away. Enjoy!

Thank you, thank you!! I've been hesitating and avoiding attempts to try this game because I don't know the tarot deck and I didn't understand the rules sheet despite his numerous examples and details. Also I suspect I bought a deck that was beautiful but I didn't like it enough. I'm about to open one I got from Amazon called Light Seekers deck that might be good. I've only bought these tarot decks just for this game so I'm determined to figure it out and play!
