April, May, and June 2026 Solo Games Review: Awards & More

Jul 10, 2026 | Reviews | 0 comments

Look back at the highlights from memorable solo games and the lessons in this review of April, May, and June 2026.

The last few months have been packed with a lot of random events, ranging from a fractured elbow recovery to a vacation. My solo game plays were a little sporadic, and my posts took ages to catch up with! But it’s time to get back on track with what was supposed to be a monthly review series with all of my silly awards. Onward to looking back at three months!

A Look at the Ratings

As a helpful reminder, my rating system is entirely broken in some ways, but helps me understand how I feel about my games. It’s more for myself, although I hope it’s helpful!

Ratings in the 70s are good games. Inching up into the 80s typically indicates my games I would label as great, and crossing the threshold into the 90s often makes a favorite.

These are updated every now and then, and I usually see a little bit of a shift. In some cases, it’s a bigger shift.

Numbers don’t tell the full story, which is why I enjoy going back and handing out fun awards for the memories!

The Award Goes To…

My first concern was whether I would remember the little stories and moments from a few months ago, but I did! The fun sticks with me and offers a chance to reflect.

These awards reflect my preferences, too, and always give me a chance to laugh about my gaming moments.

I prefer to do these monthly, of course, so hopefully this will be the only exception! Still plenty of choices between games, and this is closer to what I hope to play each month.

This will always fluctuate, yet I’m having a great time cataloging everything to create a timeline of my fun.

Monthly Highlights

Mixing in older favorites helps make the hobby a fun one, rather than an effort in play numbers. That can really feel like work sometimes! A little adjustment works wonders.

I had a lot of fun with new titles, such as Bullet, Thiefdom, and Twittens. The latter pair surprised me with how much I enjoyed them. Love those unexpected, fun moments!

My campaign in Far Away continues to take ages to move through, yet I think that’s my speed… Slow as a snail. Ha!

Having some reliable favorites was a great time, too, especially with Village Green and Walking in Burano.

Lessons of the Months

Schedules often shift a lot, and I struggled to work in solo games when I had a lot going on. It was a little sad to see that I didn’t reach for games, yet recovering was necessary.

My play time is often sporadic, so I don’t need to force myself to spend time playing. That happens when it can.

I’m also getting back to making sure I have fun, rather than ticking off my unplayed games list. That’s a lot of work, but making sure it’s enjoyable is something I want to focus on.

And lastly, spending time on a single game can be very rewarding as the strategies come to light. It’s quality time!
